November 2014. The Argentine Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Casamiquela, visited Hanoi from November 26-29. During his stay in Vietnam, he met with his Vietnamese counterpart Mr. Cao Duc Phat, as well as with the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh and high officials of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Vietnam (VAAS).
A large delegation of officials from Argentina’s Ministry of Agriculture accompanied Casamiquela, including the Secretary of Political-Institutional Coordination Javier Rodríguez, the Ministry’s Chief of Cabinet Héctor Espina, the Head of SENASA Diana Guillen and the Deputy Director of Institutional Relations of INTA, Ana Cipolla. The Argentine Ambassador, Claudio Gutiérrez also took part in these meetings.
During the visit, both sides identified new priorities in agricultural bilateral relationship and pledged to boost cooperation in agricultural biotechnology and health negotiations so as to pave the way for new Argentine products to gain access into the Vietnamese market. The authorities also agreed to promote the continuity of Argentine cooperation projects in the field of agriculture in Vietnam.
