June 2015. Experts from the Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team (EAAF) conducted a new chapter of FO.AR cooperation project 6114 “identification of the human remains of the war martyrs” from June 15-19 in Hanoi.
The activities took place at the Bureau of National Devotees under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), which is the coordinating body of Vietnam’s Master Plan for the Identification of War Martyrs. Officers from the Argentine Embassy and Argentina’s General Directorate of International Cooperation (DGCIN) supported the Argentine experts throughout the week.
During the working sessions, the Head of EAAF Luis Fondebrider, geneticists Carlos Vullo and Carola Romanini, as well as forensic anthropologist Mercedes Salado Puerto visited the genetic laboratories involved in the Master Plan and discussed the assistance to be provided for the planned exhumations of thousands of martyrs’ graves in different cemeteries around Vietnam.
