October 2014. Buenos Aires hosted the fourth Intergovernmental Commission (also known as Comixta) from October 29-30, which enabled Argentine and Vietnamese high officials to discuss various issues that comprise the bilateral relations between both nations.

The meeting was co-chaired by Argentina’s Head of International Economic Relations Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Worship, Carlos Bianco, and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Tran Tuan Anh.

During the meeting, both parties committed to speed up negotiations for the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministries of Educations of both countries. Furthermore, strategies were devised in order to enhance bilateral ties in areas such as trade, investment, agriculture, energy, technology, education and culture.

In addition, the Argentine side proposed that memoranda of understanding be signed between both parties, targetting different areas, such as communications, industry and biotechnology.
