January 2016. Argentine Ambassador Claudio Gutiérrez visited Phan Thiet, the capital city of Binh Thuan province, from January 5-6 at the invitation of the Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Huynh Van Ti, who comes from said locality.

During the visit, Ambassador Gutiérrez held meetings with several provincial officials from both the Communist Party and the government, with whom he discussed potential cooperation and initiatives to promote trade and investment in the regional tourism sector.

Phan Thiet is in a rapidly developing region in the southwest of Vietnam characterized by its fishing industry and a seaside beach destination that has led to a growing momentum of tourism.
